Default How Huffing and Puffing Could Remove Space Junk

"The problem of menacing space junk has spurred all sorts of
ideas to deal with it, from garbage scows and huge nets to
laser blasts and debris-snagging Nerf balls.

Now scientists are considering a huff-and-puff approach to
remove debris from orbit by firing focused pulses of atmospheric
gases into the path of targeted space trash."

I don't like that idea. All it will do is put the debris into higher
orbits, which means it will eventually return to _lower_ orbits and be
dangerous yet again. Better to get rid of the rubbish rather than to
simply avoid it.

the firing should be space based from above.

its sad that space so large, is being trashed

Umm, that's not what it would do at all.

It would increase drag a bit, which would remove energy, which would lower
its orbit a bit, Presumably enough that at this point normal atmospheric
drag would finally remove it from orbit.,

No fear. No thought that you had. And besides, I know who posts from
giganews.
