Non-Photos of the Transit of Venus
The photos linked from SAA posts have been wonderful, every one of them.
I'm sorry that I don't have any of my own, but I have posted some pix from the brave effort that members of the Howard Astronomical League made to view the Transit of Venus. They are at my non-commercial, family-safe web site at http://www.davidillig.com/ast-hal040608.shtml. Davoud -- usenet *at* davidillig dawt com |

Non-Photos of the Transit of Venus
John Steinberg:
Thanks for documenting the event and kudos for the avoidance of the "Success has many fathers, but failure is an orphan" syndrome. I was thinking more along the lines of "Success has many fathers, but failure is a *******." Davoud -- usenet *at* davidillig dawt com |

Non-Photos of the Transit of Venus

JS Substitute crisps for the cookies and tea for coffee and JS I'd swear that series was shot in the UK. Ah, yer just jealous 'cos we in the UK got da full 6 hours! ;-) But frankly, waking up at 06:00 was just a little too tiring for me. So I watched 1st and 2nd contact, went back to bed for 4 hours, got up again (11:00) and viewed 3rd and 4th contact. My scope was still tracking the Sun correctly after my long snooze. Is that, like, the most leisurely astronomical event, ever? :-) |

2). Some, although not all, just like to wake early to make sure our
country is still there and/or not under Marshall Law. You mean like in Gunsmoke, with Marshal Dillon? -- Bruce Sidell Moonrise Software www.Moonrise.us |
