The trick in TS6 land was to use the proper catalog. Works fine for the
sky at a particular time.

Yep. SORT does that. Take a text based list of stars,
use SORT to do its thing on the right columns, and the start(or end)
of the resulting file contains the wanted stars.

SORT [/R] [/+n] [/M kilobytes] [/L locale] [/REC recordbytes]
[[drive1:][path1]filename1] [/T [drive2:][path2]]
[/O [drive3:][path3]filename3]
/+n Specifies the character number, n, to
begin each comparison. /+3 indicates that
each comparison should begin at the 3rd
character in each line. Lines with fewer
than n characters collate before other lines.
By default comparisons start at the first
character in each line.

Now we just need Davoud to show that his 'number of free applications'
doesn't simply mean 'zero free applications'.

Not only should Dumvoud find and post such an application (which may
very well exist) but perhaps Schlyter should now step up to the plate
and write the software, then make it available. OTOH most any
student who has studied trig and taken a programming course or two
should be able to write the software.
