I have seen an atom.
To see an object, you must have light with a wavelength much less than
the size of the object. An atom ? No way ! |

Whenever you look at anything you are looking at individual atoms. You said "an atom" meaning one individual atom. When you see an object composed of many atoms, you're certainly not seeing "an atom" . |

I have seen an atom.
But you said "an atom", implying that you could see an individual
atom, which is clearly absurd. What we see is the collective effect of massive quantities of many atoms. |
