Default STS-118 Launch Weather Forecast, issued 7 Aug. 2007 (Forwarded)

STS-118 Launch Weather Forecast

Vehicle: Endeavour
Issued: 7 August 2007/ 1100Z (0700EDT)
Valid: 8 August 2007/ 2231 - 2241Z (1831 - 1841EDT)
Launch Weather Team: 45th Space Wing, Patrick AFB, FL

Synoptic Discussion:
An area of high pressure is building in over the Gulf of Mexico and an upper
level ridge is over the Eastern U.S. Moisture in the atmosphere over Kennedy
Space Center (KSC) will peak today and then gradually decrease Wednesday
through Friday.

On launch day, the sea breeze will develop early in the afternoon and
migrate well inland by launch time. Easterly flow will prevail through the
atmosphere, and the main concern in this weather regime is isolated coastal
showers. Overall, the weather scenario is favorable for launch, and the
probability of KSC weather prohibiting launch decreased to 20%.

Our primary concern for launch day is isolated showers.
