Default Flexible Dew Shields

I am considering purchasing a flexible, roll up dew shield for my C8.
Anyone had any good/bad experiences with any of them? There are a
couple of choices at low prices on EBAY. There's one branded:
TECHNOTRONICS and another sold by "gooddealonly".
Any responses are greatly appreciated!
Dave

I use one 18" wide and about 6 feet long for my 22" (otherwise
completely exposed) mirror. It's made of ABS, is very thin and I just
roll it up. I stuck on some velcro so it would hold in place around the
mirror and struts. In the winter, it's usually very dewy where I
observe, but I have never had my primary dew up.

Clear skies,

I swear by the Orion telescope shields. They work, and work well.

I have never heard of either of these companies and I think their prices are
slightly too high.
I have several of the Flexishield dew caps from Orion and they work very
well. The quality is good and right now they have a sale which is too good
to pass up.
Their stock number is 04200 and the description is FlexishieldT 8"
Cassegrain

The sale price is $14.75 and they are in stock. I have no relationship with
Orion other than being a satisfied customer.
Their website is www.telescope.com and then do a search for the stock
number.

Hi:

I've tried a couple of "flexishields"...but, you know what? I still
like the good, old Celestron Dewstar best. It's nice to be able to
store the flexible ones flat and all, but then it's a hassle to wrap
them around the tube end, they are never quite round, etc.

Peace,
Rod Mollise

I fitted mine the first day it arrived and it hasn't been off since,
the BC&F is a pretty snug fit and the LX90 looks *far* more impressive
with it fitted ;O)

I've got one of the Orion flexishields for my 8" SCT. I haven't found it
much of a hassle, but I don't store it flat. When I'm finished observing, I
just pull it off the scope, still in cylinder form, and toss it on top of
everything that's piled into the car.

Since I almost always have dew zappers running, I've never used the
dewshield by itself. Sometimes the dew is so bad here in North Carolina,
that my corrector heater can't keep up. I add the dewshield to the scope
and all is well.
