Default It's Sputnik Week!

All week, followed by lavish and decadent Sputnik parties, all weekend.

You're all invited - I'm doing another Orbiter on a dinosaur install, so
you can all fly R-7 and Vostok sims between drinks and hors d’œuvres.

The main entrée is your vanity, of course.

This is going to be a huge anniversary. Here is a page with a nice
photo of the innards of the Sputnik satellite:

As for the R-7, lots of historians overlook the fact that it had
proven itself as a capable booster months before Sputnik, as reported
on at the time by AvWeek as the first successful ICBM launch.
