Cloth is made out of glass fibers. Some of the reasons that
Apollo era suits are now faling apart is Cloth. It's primary
useful property is non-flammablity thus it's a good high temperature
flame barrier.

You dropped the words Beta cloth from my post in sci.space.tech. No,
it's not exactly like Owens Corning's pink fiber glass
insulation...similar in intent.
