SpaceX still mum on Falcon 9 launch date

Anyone know what's going on? You have not been paying sufficient attention. For some while, the "earliest possible" date has been 2010-04-12 Mon. Google for +"2010-04-12 Mon" +Falcon g or see below. Or read http://spaceflightnow.com/tracking/index.html, which is fairly good (I think it should have a Falcon 1e, but ICBW; see http://www.spacex.com/launch_manifest.php). -- (c) John Stockton, nr London, UK. I was going to say that perhaps they consider Kwaj to be too small potatoes, but then I see they list a Sept 5 launch from Kodiak... and one in October from Wallops Island. From the spaceflightnow site: April 12 Falcon 9 * Dragon Launch window: 1500-1900 GMT (11 a.m.-3 p.m. EDT) Launch site: SLC-40, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will make its maiden launch on a demonstration mission. The mission will carry the qualification unit for SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft, which the company plans to fly on resupply missions to the International Space Station. Delayed from Nov. 29, Feb. 9, March 3, March 8 and March 22. [March 11] I think the number in square brackets is the date of the last change. So, I guess that gives us some idea of your definition of "some while" My biggest beef though is what is a California company doing scheduling a launch window opening at 08:00 Pacific time!-) Don't they realize that the only civilized hours of the day are described by two significant digits with no leading zero on a 24 hour clock?-) Orbital mechanics be damned rick jones -- Wisdom Teeth are impacted, people are affected by the effects of events. these opinions are mine, all mine; HP might not want them anyway... feel free to post, OR email to rick.jones2 in hp.com but NOT BOTH... |
