And yes, I type quickly, but Volume I of the Hearings

You don't have to. All you have to do is provide a *complete, proper cite,
including page number*. You are hardly the only person who has a copy.

Well, my apologies, but I'm astonished that you sounded like (in that
message) you had no real clue if the FBI was involved. How can you
not know that? And yes, I type quickly, but Volume I of the Hearings
is 300 some pages. I do not have the time to type all of that. When
you get a copy you'll be free to read all you like.

Ya know, there is a little method we historians use to handle this problem. We
cite the page numbers. Or block quote a paragraph depending on what's going on.
Someone doesn't say "Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto called for a violent
overthrow of the capitalists" and then proceed to quote the whole damn thing
but a historian worth a damn will at least note a page #, or a quote or
something to prove their point.

A couple months ago I noted on this NG (or sci.space.shuttle, forgot which) a
statistic for the probability of a fatal shuttle accident featured in Jenkins'
"History of the National Space Transportation System" and failed to note the
page. When asked for the page my reaction wasn't "**** off, find it yourself"
to these people as it was a legitimate demand as I was the one trying to prove
a point, just as YOU are the one trying to prove points about Apollo 1. I
failed to find the statistic immedietly (as I was looking at 6 AM after pulling
an all-nighter on a paper) but did eventually find the page number, quoted it
and noted it to the newsgroup.

If one is stating an arguement in becomes that individual's responsbility to
provide proof of the arguement. Any historian worth a damn would provide
evidence that could be examined and analyzed by other historians, any engineer
or scientist worth a damn would provide hard data that could be analyzed by
other engineers or scientists.

People aren't rolling over and accepting what you say just because you say it?
Tough. Be ready to back up what you claim or don't bother saying it because
nobody here is going to believe one damned word you say until you show us the
goods. And nobody will believe as wild a claim as that the Apollo 1 crew was
murdered without hard, solid evidence in the form of documents that can be
referenced and data that can be analyzed.

And someone was complaining about John Maxson's post? What about THIS stupidity?

Well said, sir. I sometimes think that Ms. Wyss must be getting compensated
for the trolling she's doing. I can't see a real reason for it otherwise,
since she has offered *zero* documentable proof of her claims, and counters
with invective when she's pressed for it.

Alas, since she's now in my *bozo bin*, I won't see a reply to my comments

If you know your post is stupid, why post?

Well, A.L., given that you are yet another one with a propensity for
made-up identities, why is it everyone wants to know what's "up my
sleeve", as it were? I have not made any attempt to hide my identity
whatsoever. So just WHO lacks credibility here?

Don't worry, Andrew - no one doubts *you* . . .

We doubt "LaDonna" who has alternately claimed to have majored (past
tense) in English recently, but when "she" first appeared, claimed to be
in her junior year of some sort of technical (implying engineering)
discipline at Wichita State. When OM noted that her message headers
indicated that she was posting through a server in Texas, she grudgingly
indicated that perhaps she wasn't, in fact, in Wichita at all.

You might recall she also claims to have "teammates" working with her
whom she won't identify; claims to have discussed criminal aspects of
her "investigation" with law enforcement personnel whom she won't
identify; and claims to have served in the Air Force, but seems woefully
ignorant of command structures and the concept of lawful versus unlawful
orders; and finally (from my perspective), she has outright lied in by
claiming I sent her an email.

So, in conclusion, the idea of "LaDonna" claiming credibility over
anyone else here save the usual cast of trolls is an absurdity of the
highest order.
