Default Orion Ultraview or Scenix 10X50s

Haven't tried the Scenix. but have owned the Ultraview 10x50 for 5 yrs and
are well pleased with them. They are excellent values having held up well
thru may travels and use by kids. They aren't Fujinons or Nikon Superior E,
but if you wanted them, these wouldn't be considered. You won't be anxious
abusing or letting others use the UV either. see this review:

I purchased the Scenix 7x50 about a year ago after reading a large
number of reviews on different binoculars. I used the binocular
testing guidelines in
http://skyandtelescope.com/howto/sco...icle_256_2.asp to assess
their quality. The only negative was in testing the exit pupils using
their guidelines. The exit pupils are uniformly bright to their edges,
but there is a very slight square cutoff at the edges. Everything else
is great. I am very pleased with them.
