Richard,

great picture. I have done the preprocessing on my "propeller" images, but I
have more noise and the second half of the session had very blurry stars
becaus of focus drift (I didn't have the mirror lock properly engaged, I
always fear that I might damage something if I turn it too much).

I crank my mirror lock until it "ratchets". At least in the 14" version
you can't over tighten it. Since I only use the 3" Crayford focuser I
never release it. but twice a year. The Crayford's range is about 3 cm
and that's not enough for summer and winter so each spring and fall I
readjust the main focus then relock it.
