Tak direct from Japan

I'll be doing some travel to Tokyo in the near future. Is there a
cost advantage to purchasing a Tak there and bringing it back to the
US?

There's a small price advantage, generally under 15%. If you need
warrantee service you'll have to send it back to Japan. The dollar is weak
against the yen right now, which doesn't help. If I were going I'd snoop
around in the used equipment departments.
