President Obama given Nobel Peace Prize

For the moment. As soon as they realize Pres. That's just the way Whitey works; give something to the colored man and then take it right back away again. You ask the Indians about that one. Let's hope Russia doesn't want us to give them Alaska back, too. Okay, maybe they can have it if they take Palin with it. General Lebed did want to take Alaska back. Think of Sweet Sarah Palin in a reeducation camp outside Fairbanks. I think about that a lot. Then I cackle like a hyena. Pat |

President Obama given Nobel Peace Prize
"Brian Thorn" wrote in message ... On Sat, 10 Oct 2009 14:56:11 -0400, "Sid9" wrote: That's some more sour grapes. You do understand I voted for Obama, right? I'm far from his biggest fan, but I thought he was a lot better than McCain (who seemed totally out of it in the last weeks of the campaign, so what would have happened had he won the Presidency... and the more I see of Palin the more I hate her.) The world is delighted that bush,jr/Cheney and their belligerence and their arrogance are GONE. Okay. And this is sufficient to give Pres. Obama a Nobel? I ask you again, don't you think that cheapens the Nobel Peace Prize... even a little? ================= No not at all. The dislike, world wide, for bush,jr/Cheney was beyond measure. ================= Have you noticed...there's virtually no rocket fire into Israel recently? Excellent. But how is this Obama's accomplishment? Does he have a peaceful aura or something that makes Palestinians not want their homeland back, or Israelis not want to slaughter Palestinians anymore? Mr. Obama is President, not God (although some of his press makes it hard to tell the distinction.) ================== Almost at the beginning of his term he appointed George Mitchell as a special ambassador with Israel/Palestine as his portfolio. Google Geoge Mitchell. bush,jr had NO ONE on the job ================== That we are talk to N Korea and they have agreed to send their nuclear fuel to Russia to be processed into fuel rod?. Caution: They "agreed" to lots of things with both Presidents Clinton and Bush, too. They actually kept exactly none of those promises. ==================== That's a hell of a lot more progress than bush,jr's arrogance and belligerence ==================== That we are talking to Iran? Meanwhile, Iran has now test-fired missiles capable of reaching Europe, and unveiled another weapons-grade nuke plant. Yeah, I feel the peace... ==================== We're talking, not shooting yet we have gained support from out European allies that bush,jr never had. We also have Russia interested in a peaceful solution in Iran....bush,jr had nothing. ==================== That our allies support us in these endeavors? For the moment. As soon as they realize Pres. Obama is not closing Guantanomo, is not pulling our troops out of Iraq, and is sending 10,000 more troops to Afghanistan, they'll be demanding a recall of that Nobel. ===================== Guantanamo is very difficult. Two more prisoners were removed within the last few days. That's progress, though slow. Our troops are being moved from Iraq in accordance with the "Status of Forces" agreement with the Iraqi government hurriedly signed by bush,jr before he left. Obama is honoring that agreement. Afghanistan was neglected by bush,jr while he adventured in Iraq. He left it to fall into a quagmire. bush,jr left a terrible mess for Obama to clean up. They are working on it. Eight years of ****ups are not fixed in a little over eight months. ===================== Talk is cheap. The world did not suddenly become safe and peaceful at 12:00 on January 20, 2009. That China and Russia have been participants instead of adversaries? Such as? The Russians always wanted us to play nice with Iran (while they sold Iran the technology to build rockets and nukes.) Now that Pres. Obama is doing what the Russians want, they're happy (shocked, shocked I am!). Oh yeah, I feel safe. Let's hope Russia doesn't want us to give them Alaska back, too. Okay, maybe they can have it if they take Palin with it. China, as usual, is participating in nothing outside China. Maybe he should get two Nobel peace prizes! Roosevelt: Brokered peace between Russia and Japan. Wilson: Established the League of Nations. Carter: Brokered peace between Israel and Egypt. Obama: ??? Take a look at all the things Martti Ahtisaari had done to win last year's Nobel Peace Prize. What has Pres. Obama actually done? Brian See above....not bad for a little over eight months. I believe he'll more than earn that prize. |

Obama is good for the United States. But you have to wonder, what did he do in 11 days to bring peace to the world? It seems very much like Pres. Obama could have sat in the Oval Office since January 20 doing nothing but reading the Chicago Tribune and he still would have won the Nobel. Pres. Roosevelt had to bring peace between Japan and Russia to win his Nobel. Pres. Carter had to bring peace between Israel and Egypt, and still wait 20 years for his Nobel, but Pres. Obama gets one just for showing up to work. That sort of cheapens the Nobel, doesn't it? Brian . . . That's some more sour grapes. President Obama and the United States was honored. Respect for America has been restored with Obama's ascendency to the presidency. The world is delighted that bush,jr/Cheney and their belligerence and their arrogance are GONE. ... replaced by obama and the Democrat Congress' arrogance on domestic issues ("stimulus," "cap & Trade," "health care reform," etc.) Have you noticed...there's virtually no rocket fire into Israel recently? That we are talk to N Korea and they have agreed to send their nuclear fuel to Russia to be processed into fuel rod?. It seems that No. Korea made similar promises to both Clinton and Bush. That we are talking to Iran? Talk is cheap. Meanwhile, the centrifuges just keep on spinning. That our allies support us in these endeavors? They are willing to talk, too. Where is their action? That China and Russia have been participants instead of adversaries? That issue is still open. China doesn't want our dollars anymore -- they figure that BO will radically cheapen the dollar, leaving them with a lot of devalued dollars. Maybe he should get two Nobel peace prizes! How about Nobel Peace prizes to DESERVING individuals? Like: Irena Sendler There recently was a death of a 98 year-old lady named Irena. During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an 'ulterior motive' ... She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews, (being German.) Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger kids..) She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.. During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants. She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely. Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family. Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted. When she was nominated, Al Gore got the Peace prize for making an infomercial on "global warming." -- Remove _'s from email address to talk to me. Obama can’t fix in eight months what bush,jr ****ed up over eight years. The world believes he can. The knew bush,jr couldn't. I believe Obama will succeed. |
