"Apollo Hoax" Debunkery -- stars in the Apollo-16 UV telescope images
Apollo hoaxists have often claimed that stars were NOT faked in the skies of the moon pictures because NASA figured that amateur astronomers would soon be able to locate the REAL star fields that SHOULD have been seen, and expose NASA's clumsy fakes. As if NASA, having chosen to fake the moon flight, would have been unable to calculate what stars should have been visible in a 'faked' scene. Irrational and insane, as typical of the 'hoaxist' crowd.... Well, there is a set of REAL 'star pictures' from the lunar surface, Apollo-16's UV telescope-camera, and I've always felt that it would be easy enough for talented amateurs (or high school kids verifying the validity of the images) to calculate the theoretical starfield and compare it to the actual photographs and see, really, if the stars were in the right places. Astronomer Bill Keel in Alabama took up the challenge and determined that yes, the stars are in the right places, and yes, high school kids should be able to prove this for themselves. See his "random topics" section of his home page, http://www.astr.ua.edu/keel/space/, and go to the link "Identification of stars seen in the background of the ultraviolet pictures of the Earth taken with the Carruthers UV camera from Apollo 16 on the lunar surface." Nice work, Bill! Apollo hoax promoters, burn in starfire! Jim O |

The Apollo moon landings were a total sham. Don't be so gullible.

Three decades later, you now offer this evidence?!??
How convenient! Where were these UV star pictures all this time? Do you have a credible and documented "chain of custody" for this evidence?" That you would now bring it up weakens your case considerably. Or, it was a rushed job, and someone decided to let it slip. [ snip ] |

That's a neat shot of the Earth; is the lighting effect in the night area due to reflected Moonlight? Also, is the odd illuminated area at the southern end of the terminator related to the Antarctic ice cap? Pat |

The age demographics of Moon hoaxers fascinate me. Also, who really did shoot Kennedy? Me, I think it was Elvis. :-D Pat |

"Roger Coppock" wrote in message oups.com... Three decades later, you now offer this evidence?!?? How convenient! Where were these UV star pictures all this time? They've been *freely available* for over thirty years. It just wasn't convenience for the hoax loons to check out evidence that would conflict with their beliefs. Do you have a credible and documented "chain of custody" for this evidence?" Sure. But since the hoax loons already have a problem with reality, there's no reason to believe you wouldn't claim it was false as well. That you would now bring it up weakens your case considerably. The hoax loons refusal to do it after more than three decades says a great deal about their dedication to the truth. I have no obligation to do your homework for you. |

NASA claims to be able to see the Big Bang from 13 billion years ago Where is this claim made? , yet can't give us a pic of the flag in/on the moon a mere 200,000 miles away from Earth? That's correct. You'd have a point if the same camera were being used, but your statement shows a complete failure to do your homework, which is typical of hoax loons. |
