But since 'it's there' we're destined to go.

to explore and colonize the solar system. It's been a theme
of countless bad sci-fi plots for so long it's become
as real a truth as any other.

Even though the reality of colonizing is little different
than deliberately leaving..The Garden, preferring an
existence in Hell. An act of pure insanity. An act no more
intelligent or evolved than a moth flying headlong
into a flame.

'Sustainable' and words like civilized, intelligent and evolved
are synonymous. The need to expand to survive implies
the opposite of all that.
