STS-121 Launch trouble

Heads up - STS-121 problems

It is Monday, 12:24pm EDT (1624z).
The S-121 Management Team is about to begin a briefing that will be
televised on NASA TV. The purpose of the briefing is to explain the
status of the launch because of the insulation cracks that have been
found on the ET this morning and on some brackets.
The briefing is scheduled for "not before 1:00pm" today (1700z).

Sounds like they're proceeding with tomorrow's launch attempt, but
will be trying to get a better look at the cracked foam area and make
sure there's no ice formation there after tanking.

Do not forget that the Shuttle is now equipped with tile repair kits. So
if the foam does break off and damage areas of the tiles, it still isn't
the end of the world. For that flight. But it may mean the shuttle is
yet again grounded with NASA tasked to fix the foam problem once and for all.

On the other hand, if the launch is picture perfect with no damage to
the tiles, this will be quickly forgotten and the media will declare the
shuttle "fixed" and fully operational.

Will they leave the repair kit at the station, or fly it next time ?

Would make sense, since they then would have two repair kits next
flight.
