PC23C with a 35mm Lens
I have a Supercircuits PC23c survellience camera that takes a C/CS camera to lens. I
have an adapter that gets me from C to 35mm but this adapter ends up making the focus a little off. Is there some adapter that allows variability in the attachment so the focus is correct? -- Wayne T. Watson (121.015 Deg. W, 39.262 Deg. Is there some adapter that allows variability in the attachment so the focus is correct? The difference between C and CS (IIRC) is that C has an additional 5 mm focal length. This is provided by a little adaptor which, on my PC23c, is a little black coupler ring with both male and female threads. If you don't have that black ring in your adaptor chain, add it in. You can also loosen a set screw and thread out the metal C mount on the camera body. You can get a few mm that way, or you can go even further and drop the lens on the floor (retighten the set screw). -- David M. Palmer (formerly @clark.net, @ematic.com) |

It seemed to have no real purpose. I'll try to avoid dropping the lens. :-) -- Wayne T. Watson (121.015 Deg. W, 39.262 Deg. Hi, some additional experimenting found that I had to take off the pc23c silver threaded insert and the plastic insert. To get focus with my (Orion) C/Pentax adapter I had to put the barrel of the adapter inside the pc23c almost entirely. This C/Pentax adapter is obviously too long. I would think someone would market one. Actually, the adapter is probably meant for a variety of cameras. The portion between the adapter and end of the camera lens has an insert to accommodate other lenses than the Pentax screw mounts. Well, maybe finding someone handy with tools that can make a reasonable device is the way to go. Maybe just a lot of rubberbands to hold the lens in place will do it. Anyway, I can see that focus is within reason with my 8-135 Pentax zoom lens. -- Wayne T. Watson (121.015 Deg. W, 39.262 Deg.
