For people like Pete Lawrence, are you just a normal working man then come
home to take part in your wonderful hobby?

Its will be quiet interesting to see the vast amount of people there are
that take part actively in astronomy from all walks of life.

I used to be what they call a software engineer, years ago we were
called programmers.

These days I manage work on lab testing proof of concept on CTI systems.

If the question applies to those of us who lurk from across the water
(the Big water to your west), I'm an erstwhile graphic designer, current
Solaris admin (backups mainly) and sometimes in my spare time a wannabe
programmer... although at 46, that's difficult to the point of mostly
impossible between family, job and the rest of life.
