Default Red Square puzzle.

In New Scientist this week - an extreme interpretation maybe,but: an alien
civilisation sign in the sky ? !!

Looks more like a biconical nebula to me. It's just viewed at a special
angle close to the equatorial plane of the object, whatever it is. Another
example is the "red rectangle".
