Default Effect of gravity waves from colliding black holes ?

I have some throuble understanding the concept of gravity waves.

For instance there was several articles about a galaxy with two super
massive black holes in it. They will merge in some 100 000 years.

To illustrate the effect:

What would happen to a solar system like ours up there ?

Or to a globular cluster or a satellite galaxy like LMC ?

What is the safe distance from a such event ?

How close will stars be damaged ? Jupiter size planets ? Earth size
planets ?
