That's an amazing view, You must have been breathless walking up from the
observatories to take the photograph.

Default Cerro Tololo and Andes mountains

The two largest telescopes getting ready for a night's observing. On the left is the 4 meter Blanco telescope, on the right is the 1.5 meter CTIO telescope.

Next picture shows one of several control panels that operate the 4 meter telescope. This one controls the large wide field imaging array which consists of 62x 2048x4096 CCDs that covers 2.2 degrees of sky. It has a resolving power of 0.26 arc seconds.

Not a bad image, but not great composition. The horizon should be higher in the scene and more foreground included. IMO. "Rule of Thirds" and all.
