And since I feel silly; how about the following:

Woman Aiming to Lift NASA Back Into Space

"SPACE CENTER, Houston - Eileen Collins, commander of the next space
shuttle mission, is eager to strap herself into a rocketship loaded
with explosive fuel and fearlessly shoot from zero to 1,000 mph in a
minute flat. ... "

Clearly, NASA sees the need for more women ...

NASA chief predicts more women as top managers

see http://tinyurl.com/aymfx

.... Actually, here is the whole article

[quoting ... ]

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -
NASA, once seen as a largely male bastion, will soon have more women in
upper management as part of a push for more capable staff, the U.S.
space agency's new chief said on Tuesday.

ZIP code where you park at night.

Do you currently have auto insurance? Yes No
Have you had a U.S driver's license for more than 3 years? Yes No
Has any driver in your household had 2 or more accidents or moving
violations in the last 3 years? Yes No

Noting that more women pursue careers in aerospace than previously,
NASA Administrator Michael Griffin said this was good but could be
better.

"I think if you watch, as the months go by, you'll see more rather than
fewer women in senior management positions" at NASA, Griffin told a
breakfast meeting of Women in Aerospace.

When his remark drew predictable applause from this group, Griffin
added, "I'm not looking for applause. I'm looking for the best people.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration began in 1958 as a
largely male preserve, with a reputation for the kind of fighter-jock
mentality that was seen as exclusive to men. The first American woman
astronaut, Sally Ride, did not fly until 1983.

Since then, women have flown on space shuttles and served on the
International Space Station. Eileen Collins, the first woman to act as
shuttle commander in 1999, will be the commander of shuttle Discovery's
flight, scheduled for July.

Of NASA's top 22 managers, six are women. None hold aeronautics
positions.

Griffin declined to say where women managers would be placed at NASA.

"As the months roll by and I begin to assemble the team that I want
around me for the next four years ... you will see more women," he
said.

"I'm looking for capability," Griffin said. "My job is the only one
that is not up for grabs in the next four years."

Griffin, a rocket scientist who has worked previously for NASA, was
sworn in as administrator in April. His top priority is to return the
shuttle fleet to flight following the fatal break-up of shuttle
Columbia in 2003.

One of his first public acts as chief was to delay the scheduled launch
of Discovery from May to July. He cited questions that emerged at a
pair of safety reviews for his decision.

"Space flight for the foreseeable future, with the level of technology
we have, will continue to be expensive, difficult and dangerous,"
Griffin said.

He praised
President Bush's plan to send a human mission back to the Moon and
eventually to Mars as providing a strategic vision "worthy of the costs
and risks."

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - A mysterious outbreak of chlamydia, a
bacterial infection which humans pass to each other through sex, has

said on Friday. ...

The outbreak was the second Penguin Island mystery to stump zoo

The zoo's penguins in December 2003 began swimming nonstop in circles

So what is it with 'British Workmanship' ?

What British workmanship would that be I don't think there is much of it
left. It seems the only booming part is the service industry.

My electric is owned/supplied by a French company, my water is
owned/supplied by a French company, my internet connection is
owned/supplied by a French company. My country is subject to foreign
laws as the EU laws override Uk laws. Most goods in the shops are from
abroad. It is now bad to say I'm british in case of upsetting ethnic
minorities and branded a racist. Can't fly the flag of St. George
without running the risk of ending up in court. I even have to be
careful about what I say about religion for fear of being accused of
stirring up racial hatred and being taken to court. A blackboard is now
a whiteboard as it is deemed racist to call a blackboard a blackboard.
The old testament is no longer the old testament as the word 'old' makes
it sound er old/out of date.

Now that the war criminal and liar Blair is in for another five years
don't be surprised if I start talking French ;-)

How would you Americans react if what I describe was in America?. At
least you have free speech still, but for how long ;-)

No it's still going strong but they did get their fox hunting
ban, though that was in all honesty a sham, the foxes are still dying
and as far as I know no one has been arrested and charged. So pretty
much business as usual.

Yes it is, PC gone mad. Every christmas now there are stories in the
press of x,y or z company telling it's staff not to put up decorations
in the office for fear of offending those who don't celebrate christmas.

'Scientific Correctness'

I think it is a sign of weakness, a lack of clear and strong leadership.
Mention illegal immigrants these days and before you get past the word
immigrants someone will shout out 'You Racist'.
