Default Beginner needs help with binocs

Hello stargazers,
I am just starting out after ordering a few books from amazon on
beginner's astronomy. I am fortunate to live in a rural desert area that
affords a brilliantly clear night sky.

I am shopping around for a pair of economical binoculars (or a portable
lightweight telescope). If possible, I wish to spend under 200.00.

Any suggestions on makes/models/brands or websites would be appreciated.

Erin
