Default Off topic: Problem with Google Groups password security?

Apprarently someone changed my password for my Google Groups account.
So I changed it. But then it got breached again, so I had to change it
again.
Anyone else have this problem?
I only use this account to post to Usenet so I'm not too terribly
concerned about that aspect of it. But it is curious that when I was
selecting my password the indicator to show the degree of security of
the passward listed it as "strong", which I presume means hard to
crack.
Are there automated programs out there used just to crack passwords
on Google Groups? What would be the purpose of those password
programs? I haven't signed up for a Gmail account. Perhaps such
programs would be useful because your Google Groups account can be
used as your Gmail account? Or can be used to access your Gmail
account?

Your personal computer has been breached. Don't blame Google.

I've not. They may have a keylogger installed on your machine, or a
packet sniffer watching traffic from your IP (much more difficult).
Or, you just forget to log out of your account on a machine, after
each session. And they walk up and mess with you.

Doesn't help if you don't remember to log out of your GG account with
each session

I can imagine lots of other ways that don't require a cracker.

That wouldn't happen since I only get on to this account using the
computer in my office at work or the one at home.
But how could you do a check for a keylogger that might have been
installed by a malware program?

And your co-workers wouldn't like to trigger your paranoid streak, by
messing with you? Before you get out of Google.Groups, Sign Out.
They made it a bit more difficult to find the control, but it has to
be done.

I use a virus scanner, Malwarebytes, and Spybot S&D.

I use a scanner, Malewarebytes, Spybot S&D, and *Sophos anti
rootkit.* Haven't had much trouble with that battery.
