If they had; he would have supported Georgia - Ma and Pa would have made
sure of that.

It does resemble that, doesn't it?
It's apparently a SS-21 "Scarab".
I wonder if anyone was in the car when it hit?
Georgian script is very odd - looks like a cross between Cyrillic and
Arabic, with a little Hindi thrown in for good measure.

I'm pretty sure it's the front 2/3rds of a SS-21, when complete, it
looks like this:

"Exposed to Red Kryptonite, Krypto becomes 'Krypto-Communist'!"
(Thought balloon over Krypto's head: "Lies, Injustice, and the
Anti-American way, comrades! Arise, you woofers of the world - you have
nothing to lose except your collars!")
I could actually see DC publishing that during the Red Scare of the 1950s.
Title could be: "Superboy's best friend? Or Superboy's WORST ENEMY?"
The scene of Krypto humping Streaky the Supercat and brainwashing Lana
Lang will be classics.
And of course scratching writing in the dirt in front of Lex Luthor:
"C...L...A...R...K...K...E...N...T...I...S...S...U ...P..." but then of
course, the effects wear off and Krypto finishes:
"P...O...S...E...D...T...O...B...E...A...R...E...A ...L...W...I...M...P...,
R...I...G...H...T...,...C...U...E...B...A...L...L. ..?"
This puzzles young Lex Luthor, particularly that "cueball" part... but
then Krypto farts at him, and ignites the superfart with his heat
vision... burning all the hair off of Luthor's head.
The rest is history. :-)

And I'm not making this up - Pink Kryptonite, which turns Kryptonians
gay: http://www.spaceref.com/news/viewpr.html?pid=26281

^"From Supergirl (vol. 2) #79, an alternate timeline in a 2003 Supergirl
storyline by Peter David, this bizarre variety of Kryptonite apparently
turned heterosexual Kryptonians temporarily and stereotypically gay; it
was seen in just one panel, with Superman giving flattering compliments
to Jimmy Olsen about his wardrobe and decorative sense. It spoofs the
more "innocent times" of the Silver Age (Lois Lane is depicted in this
story as not understanding what's gotten into Superman)."

They obviously don't build cars like they used to.
