Default ASTRO: NGC 6012

An intriguing galaxy imaged through the moist monsonal air of the
California Central valley and of the course the light dome of
Sacramento.

NGC 6012 is classified as R Sbab With both a nuclear ring and a bar
driven resonant ring with on going star formation, in addition, outer
portions of the galaxy show condensations in the faint arms. Surface
brightness is 12.8 magnitude, distance is 89 Mly. Note the opposing
outflow at the bar ends, Ratay mentioned the outflow but did not
speculate as to cause.
