Right, none of these stories said any space debris was sold. So, if
anyone said space debris was sold, they're saying something that isn't
true.

As to whether anyone legally offered debris for sale, well that's a
finer point. To legitimately offer something for sale one has to be in
possession of it. And no one who legally had the right to sell space
debris actually offered any debris for sale. So, that's not true
either.

Now, to an even finer point, did anyone even have possession of space
debris and offer it for sale? According to both articles you cite -
that isn't likely since they labelled all such offers to sell debris
hoaxes or pranks. So, even if you allow that possession is 90% of
ownership - it doesn't seem that anyone who offered stuff for sale
actually had debris to sell - they were merely pranksters and hoaxers.
Sad people who wanted to participate in history as any cost.

So, clearly, these stories support my contetion that anyone that says
something like "last time the shuttle made re-entry there were shuttle
parts on ebay within 24 hours," is not only an ASS but also lying
through his yellowed teeth.

And those who say things like, "the government charged and prosecuted
individuals who were only exercising their right to make a buck in the
free enterprise system by taking scrap that landed in their ****ing
livingroom and in some cases destroyed their homes, and trying to
auction the charred space junk" is wrong on so many points he could
rightfully be called a f**king lunatic who needs immediate psychiatric
attention.
