Space Daily finds a new way to further lower their standards... A task
I would not have thought possible.

Why not "Monty P"?

I suggest the name of the next probe should be "Wallace".

Named after Alfred Russel Wallace, with his theory that some sort of
spirit guided evolution.

Besides, it sounded Brittish (means Welshman, though I think that it
also means stranger) and a good named for a Beagle.

But I'm wondering if there won't be people concluding that Beagle 2
failed, and Spirit succeeded, because George Bush is a God-fearing
President, and Beagle 2 was named after the ship that carried *Charles

of (gasp) Evolution!

There may be some who reach such conclusions.

But they'd be no more wrong than your notion that tabloids trashed
Arthur C. Clarke because of their hatred for non-Christians. (Hint:
tabloids trash celebrities because it sells papers).

I wish you'd take your jihad against Christianity to groups where it's
on topic.

No, I *don't* think that the tabloid did it for that reason.

I think that a particular USENET poster who keeps claiming the tabloid
story is true may, possibly, be motivated by such nonsense.

I think Christianity is, among the world's great religions, the one
with the soundest ethics. As for those among Christians who do preach
hatred and intolerance, they are a far smaller minority than those who
do that among Muslims.
