Here is a free book online with all the necessary principles of
spacetime to help you on your way -

'Scientific people know very well that Time is only a kind of Space.'

http://www.bartleby.com/1000/1.html

A new course is to be added next year regarding how 20th century
theorists ruined a perfectly good 1898 science fiction novel.

I'm embarking on an OU Astronomy course in January and wondered if anyone
here had any experience of this ?

That aside, check out the details of this course

A week in Mallorca, based at this observatory - cool !

Hi,

I just completed S197 and S194 - both very interesting and a good lead in to
the higher level courses. Just got my results too :-)

I am planning on doing SXR208 next year - to go with the Level 2 Astronomy
course that I can't remember the number of right now.

All in all, the OU courses seem rather good - you do need to make sure that
you allocate enough time to study properly as opposed to rushing things at
the last minute though....

Thanks for this, with all the help on here I should be able to plan my
study for the next year or two !

Did you take them sequentially or concurrently ?

PS I have no problem with free time, can usually spare 2 hours a day on
this.

Both at the same time. I'm also currently doing the S151 Maths for Science
course to sharpen up my long dormant A-level maths. That was the reason for
the comment about making sure not to leave it 'til the last minute !

I wish I had a bit more time these days....

I'll do one to start with to get an idea of the general difficulty of
the courses.

When your wife runs off with her boss and leaves you with a 1 year old
and a 2 year old you have plenty of time to fill in the evenings after
they have gone to bed...got to do something to occupy my mind you see !

I'm glad that somebody else brought up SXR208 in here...normally that is
left up to me :-)

I've just found out that I'm tutoring in the first week of this course
in March 2006, so I might see some of you there (say hello).
