Dark skies in North Korea
Saw a satellite picture of the Korean peninsula in the
paper today. South Korea has lots of light pollution, which implies a decent economy, and North Korea all dark, implying a bad economy. Assuming decent weather, the skies in North Korea should be pretty dark for astronomy. But there are other issues that pretty much make any trips to there out of the question. |

I hear the shopping really sucks. ;-) Shawn |

That, and fact the average North Korean probably earns enough in one year to buy a Huygens 0.96" eyepiece at best. -Rich |

I hope you like eating kimchee....... But a much better rather dark place is Cuba! Relatively dry tropical climate, good rum, music, and baseball, and it's almost as dark as North Korea.
