Derek and I will not be as available for the next week or so as usual. I
will literally be in a hole in the ground most of the week.

And my connectivity above ground is very slow.

Please be patient.

Another one of those little contamination issues at Wildfire, I assume? ;-)

Now the coup d'état of Mary Shafer begins...neither Derek or Greg shall

return from their absence, having both suffered unfortunate "accidents".
This is the same way it works in Central America. ;-)

======================================= MODERATOR'S COMMENT:
We are moderators 'for life" :-) GdM (Seriously, unfortunately I haven't had a chance to fully set Mary up.)

What problems would that be Alan? That the moderators are real people
with real lives? That the moderators care enough to let you know *in
advance* of a temporary slowdown?

Yep. And that leaves one to do all the work. There's simply no point to a
moderated group when posts can't get through.

We're in good shape then - as the posts will merely be delayed, not
blocked from getting through.

No. That's blocked by any measure; until a moderator can be bothered to
'feed' them to the group readers.

Which is why we have multiple moderators - we've already had a couple
of gaps in coverage by one moderator or another and you haven't even
noticed them. But this week and the next we have a rare confluence
where Greg is travelling on business and I am traveling on family
matters.

But there were three mods; where's Mary?
