Maxim DL - Maximum entropy

Ever got maximum entropy to do anything useful? Lucy Richardson
deconvolution works fine for me (astrophoto and photomic) but I can't
make ME do anything but bounce between useless "posterised" versions of
the original image...

Under what circumstances would you choose ME over LR (assuming it does
actually work when given correct settings :-)

Tips and tricks anyone?

I haven't used Maxim DL's version of Maximum Entropy but there is no
reason why it should not work almost as well as L-R.

You may be trying to overcook the image and their algorithm is lets say
"mildly unstable" for unfortunate choices of input parameters. Try
claiming the original is a lot noisier than reality and use a low value
for convergence rate to see if you then get something that remains stable.

If they document which ME algorithm they are using it might be possible
to work out the right parameters to make it behave for you.
