NASA could have found millions of Martian microbes.
NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander have taken many ultraviolet-light images with its optical microscope. Many of such images show numerous small white dots (Fig.1). These white dots could be fluorescence emitted from Martian microbes, as they are not seen in other images taken of the same area in other light sources. The white dots measure from about 4.7 microns to 11 microns in diameter, as shown in Fig. 2 below: Fig.1: shows animated photomicrographs taken both with ultraviolet light (marked with U) and with blue filter (marked with B). http://www.wretch.cc/album/show.php?...555278681&p=92 Fig.2 : shows the sizes of cells range from about 4 microns to 11 microns. http://www.wretch.cc/album/show.php?...555278680&p=91 Source of Fig. 1 : http://www.flickr.com/photos/hortonh...ho/2817056595/ Photo credit: Hortonheardawho Source of Fig. 2: http://phoenix.lpl.arizona.edu/image...=26025&cID=263 |
