It does sound like the heat exchanger technology works, at least on
their test article. It certainly could have applications other than air
breathing HTHL SSTO. One application mentioned would be in ocean water
desalination plants.

Hmm, given the experience with the de-sal plant here in
Victoria(Australia) color me unenthusiastic!

Yeah, see my post in sci.space.shuttle. Neat if it works, but yeah, I'm not
impressed.

Just seems like they're solving the wrong problem to me. But hey, if they
prove me wrong, great.
