The orbiters weren't stored in the VAB. Not this time, but I'm thinking about how this will impact operations once the shuttle starts flying again. When an orbiter is "stacked" on the MLP with the ET and SRB's, I believe the VAB is the safe haven for the orbiter during threatening weather. A quick web search seems to indicate that this is the proper procedure for a stacked orbiter. Jeff -- Remove icky phrase from email address to get a valid address. |
