Sunshine here in Gresham! Currently 79F as of 12:30 PM PDT. Expected high 86F. Yesterday it topped out at 88F. Another perfect day!

Janet would like me to do some work for her that would help her with her taxes. I saw Dana last night in Safeway. She came to Gresham from the Tanasbourne Village Safeway where I used to see her.

Actually she just wants me to help get her receipts organized. But in reality, I could also organize her books, and do her taxes as well! I am the most underemployed man around!

I had a 1941 Chevy. It was my first car. My grandfather left it to me. It was big and roomy, but under powered. Old flat head six. It had the vacuum glide shift on the column, the smoothest shift action ever made. Trouble is people would wear them out by trying to jam them.

You know, there is going to be an increased interest in older model cars as people start trying to avoid the new "smart cars" that automatically report to the cops every time you run into a fence post, and a report from the cars "black box" is then reviewed to assess whether you were at fault! Also the air bags in modern cars have taken some people's heads off! I always felt as though I was driving with a loaded gun to my head when I drove cars with air bags!

A pleasant 75F here in Gresham as of 2:00 PM PDT. Expected high a comfortable 83F.

It's a lovely 70 F here in eastern Missouri. I did some yard work this
morning and since then have been here by my computer waiting for my
invitation to Hagar's 4th of July party. I hope it comes soon.

I don't know. Hagar doesn't seem like the kind of patriotic person who would throw a 4th of July party. He would seem to be someone who would be more likely to be burning a flag than a sparkler!

Another pleasant day here in Gresham. 68F as of 12 noon PDT. Morning clouds are clearing for another sunny afternoon. Expected high 81F.

Getting close to the 4th now. The best fireworks can be bought at Blackjack Fireworks just north of Vancouver, Washington. They have real firecrackers and skyrockets! Trouble is there is really no place you can light them up legally, not even in Washington! Sort of like cigarettes are getting to be! A strange society we live in.

Bought some early zucchini at the Farmers' Market here across from the library.

Getting ready for a bang up fourth! Still need to pick up my fifth!

Morning clouds just now clearing away here in Gresham as of 12:45 PM PDT. Temp now a pleasant 68F. Expected high of a comfy 76F.

Passed one guy digging for cans inside a dumpster on my walk over here today. Then passed a young woman pulling a shopping cart overloaded with her worldly possessions. I thank heaven those days are over for me!

I am reading a book by a guy who was hoboing around Oregon during the '30s. Things sound familiar!

Met a woman waiting for the bus who said she had just move here from north Portland. That is "the hood", but she is white. She said she is still very confused by this area. A lot of people are. Gresham is just a small town, but the streets can be confusing.
