Some sun through morning clouds. Now 63F here in Gresham as of 11:15 AM. Headed for an ideal high between 72F to 75F.

Foreboding clouds fill the sky! Brought umbrella just in case. Only 57F as of 1:30 PM here in Gresham.

Harlow, the mouse is not interested in the peanut butter you recommended. But he left a few fecal pellets to let me know he is still there. I might try a cheese that will better stick to the pan, like Velveeta. But I have a feeling this mouse has very good taste, and expects to be feed only expensive gourmet cheeses.

Strange. I have never heard of a mouse that could pass up peanut butter.

You DID use Skippy Super Chunk right?

Chunky, but not Skippy. I don't like Skippy, though maybe the mouse would.

Another cool day here in Gresham. Cloudy and only 53F as of 12 noon here. Expected high only 58F. Rained last night and this morning.

Too bad Tom Brady can't use some of his deflation magic on the prices in our economy!

In summer it is nice though, and stays a little cooler than downtown Portland.

Today I am back over in the Cedar Mills Library, since I don't have my Multnomah County library card yet. After lunch with Kim downtown, I came up here. It is currently 51F here with a slight sprinkling of rain starting. Should be dry again in a couple day.

A few days ago I walked over to the Mt. Hood Community College campus. I spent 2 years in school there. Much has changed, but old memories still remain.

At first I felt a little lost, but then I came upon a spot I clearly remembered. It was where I had gone out there and watched a speech by then President Jimmy Carter in the late 70's. He was the first President I had seen in person! A helicopter brought him in, and Iranian students hiding their faces were demonstrating against the Shaw of Iran.

I finally found the lake that they made by damming up the local creek. I once drove a car across that dam! But if I were to try it now, I would run into a fence. I now must give up any hope of wetting a line in that trout stocked pond, as fishing is now limited to those under 17. Well, that's how I always thought it should be.

I found the basketball court with the dome shaped roof. It is a paraboloid shaped roof which gives an interesting echoic effect at its center. They have wisely covered much of the ceiling with acoustic tile.

There used to be tables and chairs on the east side where students could sit. But now it's all basketball floor. That's were I used to sit and talk with Greta and Susan in those pleasant times.

I went to the corner of Kane Dr. and Stark St. to look for the stone mile post marker for mile 14 from Portland. It was there back in 1969 when I checked. This were set down every mile along Stark about 150 years ago. Stark led to the Stark St. Ferry, which was the only way to cross the Willamette River back then, before they built the bridges in Portland. The Community College has put up a sign at that corner and surrounded it with rocks and other landscaping. But no sign of the historic mile stone. You would think that the administrators of a college of all people would have some respect for history!

AA Try a different trap. Sunny and kind of cool. Not good beach weather.Pee-Aire feels more confident each day.Still touch and go. I wish you every success.

Slightly warmer and dryer today here in Gresham. As of 6 PM it is 63F.

Had a long lunch with Kim today at the Gresham Chinese Garden Buffet. There food seems very nutritious and doesn't seem to put on weight.

Mostly sunny here in beautiful downtown Gresham. As of 12:45 PM it is 62F on the way to possibly 70F later this afternoon.

The mouse finally got a taste for peanut butter and completely licked the pan of the trap clean without triggering it! I think Bert's trapper instincts are right, I should try a different trap. I tried again setting the trap with the hair trigger, but again couldn't get it to stay set. So I got out a third trap and managed to keep it set after baiting it with a different kind of cheese. We'll see how it works.

If I can successfully trap this mouse, can a long line trap line not be far in my future?

56F as of high noon here in Gresham. Later up to 61F. Cloudy with very light sprinkles.

The farmers market is outside here again. Mostly prices are to high. But one booth has reasonable prices on vegetables. But what are you buying? Produce fresh from the farm? But what farm? Where? Most of the vegetables being sold are not yet in season around here. Lots of strawberries being offered, but they they do not come ripe around here for another month. California berries? Usually the quality of those is less.
