ASTRO: Propeller DWB 111
First I'd like to mention that I have difficulties posting replies to other
images as my newsserver has not shown any new pictures in this group for almost a month. My posts through spacebanter.com have only occasionally reached other servers. I hope my ISP gets everything running again... Until then I'll post replies through spacebanter. Now let's see if my newsserver at least manages to post my own images: Richard's fine picture of the propeller nebula reminded me that I have not imaged it myself. Unfortunately I lost focus somewhere in the middle of the series, but had to use all pictures to get a usable signal/noise ratio. Deconvolution in CCDsharp and resizing to 75% makes the image look more acceptable. Taken from the middle of Berlin with a 10" Meade ARC at f/5.7 on a G11 mount, SXV-H9 camera, 45x5 minutes through an Astronomik 13nm Halpha filter, 5 minutes each for RGB (with the red channel being a 50/50 mix of 5 minutes red and the Halpha image) The picture can also be found at http://ccd-astronomy.de/temp/dwb111P...rcolourgut.jpg Stefan |

Odd but I'm in the process of processing my version of this one. Though I didn't use narrow band data, just LRGB so it will be interesting to compare the two. Framing is about the same but my camera was turned 90 degrees. I've gotten emails from several others who mostly lurk here who say their ISP's are no longer carrying the images as well. Mine stopped all usenet activity after two weeks of no images. Money saving move I assume as they sure didn't drop their rates any for less service. This new moon has been horrid skies with winds way too high to open the roof. Steady at 45 km/h with gusts to 75. You'd think I was along the gulf not near the Canadian border! 3 days now of such winds and even more of milk white skies of mag 3 at night rather than the mag 6.5 I normally have. Might as well live in Berlin. Just see a hint of Milky Way. Yet another new moon lost though I got e couple days of good skies about 3rd quarter moon. Rick -- Correct domain name is arvig and it is net not com. Prefix is correct. Third character is a zero rather than a capital "Oh". |
