Default Moon asteroids not all Stay in Orbit

I have an idea that 3.5 billion years ago when comets, and asteroids were
a million times more plentiful all large rocks had Moons. Mars had
1000s Earth had 1000s as did Mercury and Venus. What happened was in
time most fell into their planet. Most of the large old crators we see
on the Moon were "once upon a time" orbiting comets and asteroids. What
gave me this theory was that in 40 million years the Mars asteroid
Phobos will crash into Mars leaving a huge crater. Reality is the
capture theory on planets having a Moon comes with the uncertainly
principle. Stable long lasting orbits are hard to come by. Its probably
one chance in a billion Bert

If the planets had thousands of moons in prehistoric times,
what possibly happened to instead give to Saturn its rings?

Mark Loose ice comet came in with the right speed and angle. If my
theory however is correct the rings are not that old. In time they will
get thinner and thinner. Lots of gas planets show thin rings in this
spacetime. Bert
