That's not a problem. That's just setting priorities.

I think that should probably be boats and everything else. On the
whole, even high end astronomy is a pretty inexpensive hobby.

I spent much less than $1000 during my first dozen or more years of activity in the hobby. $1000 per decade seems to be the average amount I spend. My other main hobby is MUCH more expensive (but more fun, actually.) Astronomy is a more contemplative sort of activity.

I have my priorities straight.

That's about my level of spending but I don't have a more expensive hobby.

Since when did morbid alcoholism become "a hobby?"

1) I don't drink at all, so your comment is libelous.
2) The death rate due to alcohol seems to be more than three times higher in Denmarkia than in America or Canada.
3) Your endless rants are reminiscent of what one might expect from a drunk.
4) You seem to have a problem of some sort.
5) You have a bad attitude.
6) Seek professional help.

The cool thing about astronomy as a hobby is that it can be done on a shoe-string budget.

Many, maybe most, other hobbies seem to have ongoing costs that add up to a large sum and often have very large up-front costs.
