Default The implications of quantum vacuum

Has there been any thought given to the implications of the background
vacuum energy being so large? By Quantum Electrodynamics equations,
using the Planck Length as the cut-off point, it's been estimated that
the quantum vacuum is 10^113 J/m^3 (Joules per cubic metre). The
relativistic mass-energy equivalence of the observable universe is only
3.011×10^71 J. That means that from just 1 cubic metre of empty space,
you can create nearly 10^41 universes!

Dark Energy is assumed to be fueled by the quantum vacuum energy, but
it's estimated to be only 10^-9 J/m^3. So it looks like Dark Energy is
barely even using a ripple from the quantum vacuum, but that's enough to
accelerate the expansion of the whole universe! For that matter, the Big
Bang itself used hardly any energy from the quantum vacuum to create
this universe. Everything is dwarfed by the quantum vacuum.

With all of this energy just permeating all of the creation, why isn't
more study done to find out more about this energy source?
