OK, so there are no astronomy competitions in the Olympics :-(

What kind of astronomy competitions can people dream up? What are (or
would be) your favorite (actual or otherwise) competitive events to
attempt at a starparty? At a club observing session? For an online
astro-community? etc.

If this were a few years ago, with film-based astrophotography, there could
be awards for most continuous hours of manual guiding.

Since we already have the ongoing competition of "who has the biggest
telescope," I suggest there be one for "who can see a given [faint] object
in the smallest aperture." How that can be verified is up to the judges,
not me. ;-)

This is a "team" event:

How long you and your team can go in answering a newbie's question about
telescopes before your discussion devolves into a religious discussion on
what is the "best" type of telescope.
