Default Astronomers discover new Earth-like planet

This only stands as proof that a good telescope worth a few hundred thousand
dollars ( maybe a little more ) is alot more cost effective and just as
efficient as the multi-billion dollar boondoggle known as NASA.

London, Jan. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- Astronomers reported on Wednesday that they
have discovered a new Earth-like planet outside the solar system.
The new exoplanet, named OGLE-2005-BLG-390Lb, is about 28,000 light years
from Earth.

About five times the size of Earth, the star lies in the constellation
Sagittarius, close to the center of the Milky Way.

There was little chance the planet could sustain life since its temperature
could be no more than minus 364 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 220 degrees
Celsius), the astronomers said.

The planet, which appears to be icy and rocky, orbits its mother star about
three times the distance between Earth and the Sun.

Mr Young, there are plenty of caves left in the world. You could find
one, live in it and enjoy a lifestyle that we had before we were
overrun with Satanic secularist inventions such as hot water,
antibiotics, toilets, cars and computers.

You truly are an idiot. I don't mean that as an insult but just a simple
statement of fact. I didn't think it was possible for anyone to willfully
demonstrate the level of stupidity you just did *and* to do it with such
obvious pride.

When will I learn to never underestimate the level of stupidity a human can
achieve if he really tries?

Please contact all the schools that you have attended over the years,
as they owe you full refunds, with interest, for the fraud they
perpetuated upon you, as they clearly managed to teach you *nothing*,
including Basic Literacy.

That planet was discovered using a gravity lensing technique,
which is well beyond the ability of non multi million dollar
astronomical instruments and similarly priced trained users
of same.

Further, as nowhere does NASA have any mission of discovering
extra solar planets, as its clear that any launches to same are
at least 100 years away, your connection between the two can
best be described as that of a retarded chimp.

These are clarly things that do not affect you, as you posses none of
them...

Please die in your cave, as we can use the oxygen for actual
intelligent life forms...

Luddite. Crawl into your unlighted and unpowered hovel and go away. The meek (such as yourself) can inherit the Earth; the rest of us are going to the stars. Count on it. By the way,
the planet is Earth-like only in that it's rocky and only about 5.5 Earth masses. It's 2 + AU
from its parent star and dammed cold on its surface. When we find a planet in a star's life
zone that is rocky (or a gas giant with multiple moons), then we can start thinking about
Earthlike planets big time.

This planet was discovered using gravity lensing, a technique that
requires telescopes (plural) worth millions and massive computer
processing dedicated to the task.

So far, we've imaged exactly one extra-solar planet, and that picture
was taken by the Hubble Space Telescope.

Earthlike? It's down around 50K, orbits a dim red star, and is 5.5
times as massive as Earth! Hardly Earthlike in any regard.
