Satellite orbital element (TLE) distribution
There's been an interesting development concerning the on-going switch from NASA to US Space Command distribution of satellite orbital elements (TLEs). See the short thread starting at http://satobs.org/seesat/Feb-2005/0002.html . The user agreement mentioned is at http://www.space-track.org/perl/user_agreement.pl , where the part in italics is the one causing concern, or at least confusion. (As a user of the new site, I'll add that it functions quite well and is indeed an improvement over the previous NASA OIG distribution mechanism.) |
