An interesting subject. We are at the mercy of psychopaths [criminals] because Windows was allowed a global monopoly. Nature abhors a monopoly almost as much as it does a vacuum. A monopoly always stifles efficiency and crushes improvement as effortlessly as does communism or any other form of dictatorship. While the great white killer shark pretends to be a global philanthropist the poor of this world constantly refill his money mines through local and government licensing for endless repairs to his broken office software. iRotten Apple was only tolerated because it posed no real threat to MS and gave the carefully manufactured illusion of real competition. Meanwhile, back at the same ranch, Google was allowed a global monopoly with all the weaknesses that entails. If Google and MS had been born in any other country they would never have been allowed to evolve into such critically vulnerable, Achilles heels for the entire planet's online ecosystem. Can you even imagine any Russian or Chinese monopoly being allowed to survive on this scale outside of their own mono-politically corrupt cesspools? |

Meanwhile, back at the same ranch, Google was allowed a global monopoly FYI: two global monopolies cannot co-exist in the same business. So make up your mind! Do you think Microsoft or Google have a global monopoly in the IT business? And how do you explain the existence of Apple, IBM, Oracle and others in that business? |

Find 20 or so major hackers and online criminals, string them all up from streetlamps and leave their bodies to rot the way they did in the Middle Ages. That'll fix a lot of the hacking and crime problems. |

Also include those nerds who, for some reason, think that littering other people's yards, mailboxes, cars and front doors with advertisements and promotional materials is perfectly OK. Also those who drive rolling boomboxes. |

So deterrence is not an option, we need security. John Savard |
