What's this thing on the Eagle?
hello, world\n
"The Eagle has wings." -- While looking at this picture, http://www.hq.nasa.gov/alsj/a11/AS11-44-6580HR.jpg I always wondered what the gray/greenish rectangular plate with struts obscuring the descent engine nozzle is. Can anyone shed some light on this? Also visible on many pictures on magazine 44, http://www.hq.nasa.gov/alsj/a11/images11.html#Mag44 starting at S11-44-6572 (OF300) Regards, Jens -- Jens Schweikhardt http://www.schweikhardt.net/ SIGSIG -- signature too long (core dumped) |

What's this thing on the Eagle?
It's the heat shield for the landing radar.
