Default lunar eclipse

good view of it in NYC.

from a web site:
"During totality, when the Moon is completely immersed in shadow, it might turn
red, the result of Earth's atmosphere bending hints of all the world's sunrises
and sunsets simultaneously onto the Moon while the Sun's primary light is
blocked."

-huh!? this is mumbo jumbo. I dont understand what that means.

It's not really mumbo jumbo. Maybe poetic.

The moon is enshrouded in the earth's shadow, but some light is bent around
the earth and reflected on the moon, causing the red coloring, much as a
sunset or sunrise does.
