A perfect day here in Gresham! Clear blue sky, and the sun is shining. As of 2:00 PM the temp is an ideal 72F. Wind NW at 3 mph. Humidity 38%.

Had lentil with beef bouillon soup for lunch. For about 65 cents, I can get two meals out of it!

Another nice day in Gresham. 75F as of 2:45 PM. Sun shining. Sky clear. Wind NW at 6 mph. Humidity 38%.

The Substation Fire, up the Columbia at Hood River has burned 70,000 acres now, much of it wheat land! Destruction of this wheat will adversely affect Oregon's economy! Police think somebody set it, but they don't know who yet. Just for the record, I haven't left Gresham all month!

Gresham's Art Festival is in full swing outside! Looks like more of a food and handicraft festival to me. Last night as I was waking through Gresham's downtown, they were just getting set up to kick off the festival. I heard someone call my name, so I turned and saw the homecoming queen from my class! She was there with her husband sitting outside an Asian food restaurant. They invited me to join them, bought me an iced tea, and shared their healthful looking food with me. It was good to talk about old times again, and catch up.

The Gresham Mayer Shane Bemis stepped up to a microphone at a nearby stage, and made a short speech declaring the Arts Festival open! My fiends said the mayor owned the restaurant across the street, and a woman who said a few words, they said owned the restaurant we were sitting outside. She, Mrs. Fan, they said, has been the driving force being the Arts Festival. Her husband is Korean.

My friends seemed to know everything about Gresham, though they live over the ridge in a little city named Wood Village. It was build to house the workers at the Aluminum Plant when it was built during WWII. That plant was torn down in 2003.

me illegally parking it every night. Pity

Trouble here is that no bus goes straight to the library, so I always have to walk a ways, no matter how hot it is! Once here, the library is well air conditioned. Still after the brisk walk through the heat, it takes me a while to cool off. My apartment stays pretty cool when I am not there.

Currently 84F as of 1:15 PM. Expected high 93F. Sunny. Wind NW at 5 mph. Humidity 35%.

The heat wave continues here in Gresham too. Now 88F as of 1:45 PM. Expected high 95F. Wind west at 5 mph. Humidity 28%. Heat is expected to continue until early next week. Could hit triple digits on the weekend. Might set a new record here for the most days in a row over 90F!

Had a nice lunch with Kim yesterday. The food was good and the conversation better. Stayed extra late to remain in that air conditioned environment.
