Some places easier than others. Some times of year easier than
others. All require *significant* energy inputs to do so. On the
order of what you expect to get out of it, plus a bit more for
entropy.


Such devices make water cheapper than you can buy. Or are you unaware
of transportation costs?


Exactly. Local. Hydrogen can burn and produce energy. No need to
transport
it. Water can be extracted locally, though pure water may be bad. It
needs
bacteria for our digestive system to accept it. I even heard pure
water like
snow can kill if drinking it too much. It lacks the salts and stuff.
